Scuba Diving Class Information

Are you ready to get certified?  If so, congratulations on making the decision to become certified in one of the greatest recreational sports on earth.  This is an exciting sport that opens up a whole NEW WORLD to you, as you will be able to explore the waters of the world. Below is information about the  classes.  If you want to register for a class, please call Jayne at 575-234-2189 to reserve your spot.  (Note:  There are only 12 student slots available per class.  A 50% deposit will guarantee your slot.)

•The cost of the certification class is $400.00, which includes your personal dive gear of a mask, fins, booties, snorkel, and a bag.  If you own your personal dive gear already, the cost of the course is $300.00.

•Buoyancy compensator (BC), regulator, weights, and air tank will be available for your use during the class at no charge.  If you wish to purchase your own gear, let us know.

•The Open Water Certification is from the International Diving Educators Association (IDEA).  If you wish more information on IDEA please visit their web site at http://www.ideascuba.com.

•IDEA requires that each student and parent or guardian where applicable sign a waiver, release and indemnity agreement and the Medical Statement.  The student’s form will be available at the first class. Unless there is reason, a medical doctor’s exam will not be required.

•Each student must to bring with them 2 passport photos to the first class. Most of our previous students went to Walgreen's where they process the photo while you wait.  Walgreen's cost is $7.99 plus tax.

•The classroom instruction and pool work locations will be at 1211 E. Wood Ave., Carlsbad, NM.  The Open Water Certification dives will be at Balmorhea State Park in Texas. It is about 120 miles from Carlsbad. NM to Balmorhea, TX. 

•You will be responsible to make your own reservations at the Park or in town which is 4 miles away. Also you will be responsible for the park entrance fee ($7/day) and diving fee charged by the park ($5/day).
